escended from the divine; from the heavens

Millenniums ago, our Rishis gifted us the traditions, rituals and lifestyle based on the Vedic way of living that brought scientific and spiritual benefits to society. This lifestyle became a beacon for other civilisations to follow
and ensured the wellbeing of all those that observed those teachings. Then in the early 19th century, Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan propagated a more modern relevance of the same Vedic tenets of non-violence, compassion for all
living beings, purity and cleanliness, bhakti and devotion, protecting our natural habitat and utmost virtuous conduct. This ensured that communities, not only lived harmoniously, but also thrived and prospered with good health,
a happy household, ample wealth, and mental and spiritual wellbeing.

Today, Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s legacy of uplifting humankind has been inherited by His 7th descendent, His Holiness Acharya 1008 Shree Koshalendraprasadji aharaj. As if by miracle and endowed with the same divine power, Acharya
Maharajshree tilessly travels afar to deliver this message personally to thousands of blessed souls in 5 continents covering over 50 different countries.

Selfless, humble and down to earth with his unique long-term vision, relentless and proactive hard work, inspirational leadership and forging a deep bond with the young and elderly, ordinary followers to the most senior figures
alike, Acharya Maharajshree has taken personal responsibility for bringing Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s mission of sarvajivahitavaha (for the benefit of all beings) across the world.

To further advance this noble cause, he has chosen Virginia, USA for one of the most ambitious projects of the Sampraday; ‘Devasya’. Acharya Maharajshree has aspired to bring everything wonderful about our Sampraday; our lifestyle,
our habitat, our love for friends and family and our natural thirst for knowledge under one, unrivalled utopic retreat.

Under Shree NarNarayan Dev Mandir Kalupur, Ahmedabad, Devasya will be an iconic development that will transform how current and future generations experience spirituality. Devasya is scheduled to be completed in 2019, when it will
be ready to welcome individuals and families from all over the world. In fact, the creation of such a retreat was already inspired by Lord Swaminarayan Himself who loved nature and the environment. He had once even planned
to retire for meditation in a secluded place among the forest and trees (Vachanamrutam, Gadhada III – 13). Devasya is precisely such a place Bhagwan Swaminarayan describes, spread out over 500 a res with natural serene beauty
the retreat includes a pristine open-water lake and abundance of greenery.

The site will house the Bhagwan Himself in a beautiful mandir with the very sacred shrine of Shree Radha Krishna and Shree Hari Krishna Maharaj; murtis made entirely from prasadi items of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and originally installed
in Karachi over 174 years ago.

As a modern resort and luxury retreat, Devasya is to offer all the modern facilities and amenities to satsangis and others, including high quality accommodation and saatvik food and catering, family vacation and events facilities,
ample leisure and recreation activities, as well as health, fitness and wellbeing services. Devasya will provide for people from all walks of life, from young children to senior citizens, giving them the perfect means to relax,
retreat, and re-energise.

With such ambitious plans, Devasya will prove to be a jewel in the crown of the Swaminarayan Sampraday and a famous landmark that people from all over the world and from all societies can flock to and discover inner peace. This
is an initiative every satsangi can be proud of.
